Below you’ll find the download of the DVD Product Box tutorial’s PSD. It’s uploaded so you can alter, make adjustments or basically play around with for creating your own DVD Product boxes or E-book covers.

| Reflections |
| Open the document you did last time, the one with the product box. |
| Select all the layers and right click on them, then choose “merge layers”. |
| Select the move tool and check the “Show transform option” option. Resize the dvd a little, making it smaller. |
| Duplicate layer. |
| Keeping pressed the CTRL key (Command key on Mac) click on the thumbnail of the layer to select it. Hit CTRL+T to make it in the free transform mode and drag it from the middle upper point like in the example. With skew command, make the transformations to match this example. |
| Next I choose Edit: Transform: Scale and squash the reflection down a little vertically. A word about reality here: How much you use the Perspective and Scale effects will either depend on what you think looks cool or on how realistic you want the reflection to look. You should observe some reflections in reality and decide what’s best. |
| Using skew and perspective commands, make the reflected image like in the example: |
| From the bottom of the layers palette, and with the reflected image layer chosen, click the button in the image to add a layer mask. Using a gradient layer from black to white, apply it on the newly created layer mask and you’ll obtain an effect like this. |
| Now go to Filter>Distort>Ripple and apply the values from my example: |
| Here is the final result. Remember that the values are not fixed, they are variable, so you can play around. Good luck. |

| Making a product box |
| Make a new document, 1000×1000 pixels with white background. |
| On a new layer, using the Rectangular Marquee tool, make a shape for the front of the product, like in the example below. Fill it with black. |
| With the rectangular marquee tool still selected, right click on the selection and choose “Layer via Copy”. You’ll notice a new layer being created. |
| Keeping pressed the CTRL key (Command key on Mac), click on that layer. Now you have selected the new layer. Just like in the 3D cube tutorial made earlier, bring the new face to the form I show you below: |
| Now bring the “covers”. I have chosen the cover of my favourite movie DVD, Lord of the Rings. I included the side image because it will be in view. Open your front cover artwork, hit V to select the Move Tool, and drag the artwork into the document with the box.
Hit Ctrl+T (Mac: Command+T) to bring up the Free Transform outlines. Shrink the front cover just small enough to completely fit into your document. You may need to enlarge the border of your document or move the cover art around to find the corners. (To preserve proper dimensions, you can click on a corner and hold down the Shift key as you are resizing it). Hit Enter to apply the transformation. |
| Go to Edit>Transform>Distort. Click and drag the corners of the cover to the corresponding corners of the front of the box. |
| Repeat steps for the image of the side cover. Distort it to fit on the left side of the box. |
| Make another layer and repeat the steps to make the top of the product box. This is it. Add to the face and the side a shadow from the layer style dialogue and you’re done |
