Creating a Little Monster

Start by opening an image of a child preferable screaming or shouting with his mouth open.

Create a triangular shape using polygon shape tool.

Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Duplicate the layer and place it for the other side.

Create a triangular shape using polygon shape tool.

Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Place the horn shape as shown.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. From select menu apply modify>>contract. Contract the selection by 2 pixels. Create a new layer and apply a black to white gradient in linear mode.

Change the layer mode to soft light.

Duplicate the horn layers. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select flip horizontal. Place as shown in the image below.

Create a thin wireframe shape using custom shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create a drop shape using custom shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. From select menu apply modify>>contract. Contract the selection by 2 pixels. Create a new layer and apply a black to white gradient in linear mode.

Change the layer mode to linear dodge.

Select and merge both the red drop layers. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Change the layer mode to color burn.

Similarly create some more blood drops.

Select and merge all the layers. Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to screen.

Start by creating a circle using elliptical shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. From select menu apply modify>>contract. Contract the selection by 1 pixels. Create a new layer and apply a black to white gradient in linear mode. Change the layer mode to screen. Move the layer 2 pixels right.

Similarly create more rounded rectangles with metallic effect and place below each other as shown.

Create a circle using elliptical shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create a circular selection using elliptical marquee tool. Create a new layer and apply a black to transparent gradient in linear mode.

Change the layer mode to screen.

Type the text with in the central circle.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

The Screaming Smiley

Start by creating a circle using elliptical shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create an elliptical selection using elliptical marquee tool. Create a new layer and apply a black to white gradient in linear mode. Change the layer mode to screen.

Change the layer mode to screen.

Select and merge both the layers. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Create eye brows using pen tool.

Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get mouth shape as shown.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown. Apply the same layer style as we used for the face layer.

Enable add to shape area form the top bar. Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.
